Stirling Old Town Jail

Stirling Old Town Jail

Stirling Old Town Jail was built in 1847 to replace the city's old Tolbooth Jail which had been named as the worst prison in the UK before it was demolished. The new jail had a strict regime to try and reform the prisoners, using isolation, hard labour and slops for food.

Among the paranormal events to be reported in the jail are dark shadow figures, people being touched and scratched, the sound of children crying and other audible phenomena. With such a gruelling past, we wonder how much more paranormal activity the jail will offer us!
